Seth A. Kaplan

Founding Attorney + CEO

With more than 20 years of experience, Seth’s practice focuses on real estate and corporate law. Seth has represented clients in the acquisition and disposition of many types of commercial, industrial, and residential real estate, and all other aspects of transactional real estate law, including commercial leasing. Additionally, Seth represents real estate developers and investors in fund formation, equity raising, and joint ventures, as well as clients in the formation of new partnerships.

Seth's expertise in the real estate and corporate arenas have led him to develop a practice assisting start-ups in all aspects of developing new businesses, from idea to execution.

Seth values pro bono work and is a current board member at Off Assignment Literary Magazine. He has also argued in front of the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals and represented clients seeking asylum in pro bono matters.

An alum of Colgate University, Seth was a four-year letter-winner in Varsity Baseball. He then received a M.A. in English literature from DePaul University and followed that with a six-year stint as a college and high school teacher of English and writing and a baseball coach at Glenbrook North High School. Seth graduated from Chicago Kent College of Law in 2006 as a member of the Moot Court Honors Society and the Dean's List. He served as a judicial extern in the Northern District of Illinois for Presiding Magistrate Morton Denlow and Federal District Court Judge Robert Gettleman while in law school.

Seth lives in Evanston where he coaches baseball, writes, and enjoys traveling and cooking.

Hailey Jean

With more than 20 years of comprehensive real estate and corporate law experience, Hailey serves as the operational backbone of KAP, orchestrating seamless legal transactions from initial contract negotiations through successful closing. Her expertise ensures every client matter moves efficiently through complex processes while maintaining the highest standards of precision and attention to detail.

As a founding member of KAP, Hailey's commitment to exceptional client relationships drives the firm's reputation for outstanding service. She builds lasting partnerships with clients and business associates, creating an environment where trust and collaboration flourish. Beyond client relations, Hailey oversees strategic firm management, client retention initiatives, and financial operations, making her instrumental to KAP's continued growth and success.

Hailey's deep industry knowledge spans multiple real estate sectors, earned through her licenses as an Illinois loan originator and Illinois real estate salesperson. Her specialized experience includes BPO reports, REO properties, asset management across luxury and multi-unit properties, and comprehensive office management. This multifaceted background provides her with unparalleled insight into every aspect of real estate transactions, enabling her to anticipate challenges and develop innovative solutions that keep deals moving forward smoothly.

Outside the office, Hailey enjoys reading, writing, experimenting with new cooking and baking recipes, and spoiling her kitten, Luna.

Daniel Lev

Associate Attorney

Daniel I. Lev is an associate at the firm with experience in all areas of real estate and transactional law. Dan advises corporate and individual clients on all transactional matters, with special attention to commercial leasing and real estate sales and acquisitions. He has also advised clients on the acquisition and disposition of property, annexations and disconnections, rezonings, entitlements, and redevelopment agreements.

Prior to joining, Dan was an associate at a preeminent local government firm where he worked on election law, real estate, land use, general litigation, FOIA, and general corporate municipal matters.

Dan received his Bachelor of Arts from Oberlin College where he played varsity soccer. Later, Dan received his Juris Doctor with honors, from the University of Illinois College of Law. In law school, Dan represented asylum seekers as part of the College of Law’s Immigration Law Clinic and worked as a zoning analyst as part of the National Zoning Atlas project. Dan also served as a Notes Editor for the Journal of Law, Technology, and Policy and received CALI awards in both Introduction to Advocacy and Race, Society, and the Law.

Dan enjoys lifting weights, reading, and being disappointed in the Chicago Bulls.
