Seth A. Kaplan

Founding Attorney + CEO

With more than 20 years of experience, Seth’s practice focuses on real estate and corporate law. Seth has represented clients in the acquisition and disposition of many types of commercial, industrial, and residential real estate, and all other aspects of transactional real estate law, including commercial leasing. Additionally, Seth represents real estate developers and investors in fund formation, equity raising, and joint ventures, as well as clients in the formation of new partnerships.

Seth's expertise in the real estate and corporate arenas have led him to develop a practice assisting start-ups in all aspects of developing new businesses, from idea to execution.

Seth values pro bono work and is a current board member at Off Assignment Literary Magazine. He has also argued in front of the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals and represented clients seeking asylum in pro bono matters.

An alum of Colgate University, Seth was a four-year letter-winner in Varsity Baseball. He then received a M.A. in English literature from DePaul University and followed that with a six-year stint as a college and high school teacher of English and writing and a baseball coach at Glenbrook North High School. Seth graduated from Chicago Kent College of Law in 2006 as a member of the Moot Court Honors Society and the Dean's List. He served as a judicial extern in the Northern District of Illinois for Presiding Magistrate Morton Denlow and Federal District Court Judge Robert Gettleman while in law school.

Seth lives in Evanston where he coaches baseball, writes, and enjoys traveling and cooking.
